Ride or Die Makeup Tag

Hi Loves!

Todays post is my Ride or Die Makeup Tag, this tag was created by the infamous Jaclyn Hill whom I'm sure many of you have heard of before. I really like the idea of this tag as it made me sit down and think about what products I really couldn't live without. Some categories were a lot easier than others I must say! The idea behind this tag is you pick one Ride or Die product for each category which you couldn't live without, if like me you have a substantial amount of makeup it could prove to be quite hard!

The Benefit POREfessional was a no brainer for me, I have quite large pores so a pore blurring primer is a must for me. I have a couple other primers similar which I really enjoy but this one wins hands down for me as it completely blurs my pores allowing my foundation to apply so smoothly and last all day.

For foundations I was tied between two, but when I thought about it I chose the MAC Studio Fix Fluid because It works with my skin so well in every season where as the other I was tied between I prefer using it only in the winter. This foundation has a medium to full coverage which I love as I get blemishes quite often so I like to have a foundation which I can build up. I also like that this foundation, when set lasts all day on my skin which for me is essential.

This was a no brainer for me the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer will forever and always, till death us do part be my ride or die concealer. I only use concealer for brightening up my face and this is by far the best one I have used as it doesn't crease on me like a lot of the other concealers I have tried do. It applies so effortlessly and blends out like a bloody dream, this is the concealer I will purchase again, again and again!

I decided for powders I would choose one which I like to use to set my face and under eyes with so I chose the Rimmel Match Perfection in Translucent. This powder is a cult favourite and rightfully so, it keeps my makeup in place and looking fresh all day. To set my foundation I swirl a big fluffy brush and apply to my face, then for my under eyes I like to use a damp real techniques sponge to pat the product under my eyes to bake and then simply dust away!

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will not be surprised to see that the Benefit Hoola Bronzer is my ride or die. This bronzer, in my opinion is the best contour shade! It is so buildable so you can look as chiseled as you like without it looking muddy and gross which a lot of contour powders seem to look like. The packaging is also so cute which is a bonus!

Blusher was a really difficult one for me because I have so many which I love and wouldn't want to be without, so I decided to pick the one I find myself reaching for the most which is the Benefit Dandelion Boxed Blush. This blusher is a really pretty baby pink shade which gives my cheeks the most gorgeous natural flush to my cheeks which I really love.

This category was quite difficult for me as there are a few highlighter which I love but the MAC Mineralising Skin Finish In Soft & Gentle has got to be my favourite it is so pretty and leaves my skin looking so glowing! I also find it can be intensified which I really enjoy as we all have days where we want our highlight to beam like the stars!

Okay so eyeshadow was hands down the most difficult category for me, as many of you may know I am slightly obsessed with eyeshadow palettes. There was no way I could pick just one eyeshadow so I though one eyeshadow palette would be fair! What I love about the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette is it is so pretty! Duh..I really enjoy the dusty pinks in this palette along with the stunning rose gold/bronzy shimmers. I find this palette to be so versatile too as there are so many looks you can make with this palette.

Okay, I have a confession..I am rubbish at applying eyeliner! For me the easiest way to apply liquid eyeliner is with a felt pen nib which this Miss Sporty one has. I have used a couple different drugstore eyeliners like this one but I found they weren't half as good. Now, you do have to go over it  couple of times to make your line jet black but for me that isn't an issue as it is so easy to work with and lasts all day without smudging across the top of my lid as the day goes on. Plus it is so inexpensive!

Mascara was also so easy to choose as the Benefit Roller Lash is sooooo good! It is hands down the best mascara for my lashes! I have really short, straight stubby lashes but with this mascara my lashes look long and full. I couldn't live without it!

For my ride or die lipstick I picked the every so famous Velvet Teddy. Matte lips are my favourite as they last much longer, my favourite thing about this matte lippie is the fact it isn't drying on the lips. The colour is in my opinion the most flattering on me as I have quite pigmented lips, Olive skin, dark eyes and hair so its literally the perfect browny/nude for me. It also lasts really well on my lips which is essential for me.

This was the easiest category for me, Gucci Rush is my all time favourite perfume as it is the perfume which Scott bought me when we first got together 3 years ago, everytime I wear it it brings me back to the giddy you get when you're in a new relationship, it makes me feel like I am falling in love again!  This perfume is musky, floral and sweet which I love, to me it is a sophisticated grownup scent haha! LOVE!

Okay, I am going to tag anyone reading this who enjoyed the post as I would love to see your guys' ride or die products. Comment down below one product you couldn't live without, thanks for reading!

  4. So many amazing products! I need to pull my Hoola Bronzer out. I got one & found it looked muddy on me, but decided to get a second when Benefit were making them with names on. I found the second was noticeably cooler toned, but I'm still put off using it because of the first one I owned (which I've sold). I love Nars Laguna as a bronzer & also contour. Xx
